About Us

We’re the Clark family — five ordinary people learning to live an extraordinary life.
Our story isn’t about perfect adventures or curated photos. It’s about finding peace in chaos, love in exhaustion, and courage in uncertainty.

We once lived the typical American dream — a home, careers, plans for the future. But our middle son, Hyrum, showed us that life doesn’t always follow the plan. He’s autistic, with a rare profile known as PDA — Pathological Demand Avoidance. Traditional therapy, school, and structure never worked for him. The world expected him to fit its rhythm, but he danced to his own.

After years of trying everything we could, we realized what helped him most wasn’t more control — it was freedom. So we sold almost everything, bought an RV, and chose the open road.

Today, our life is full of dirt and laughter, breakdowns and breakthroughs.
We live close to nature, homeschool our kids, and travel through small towns and quiet places where Hyrum feels calm and our family can breathe again. It’s not glamorous, but it’s real — and it works.

We started May There Be a Road to share our journey — not because we have all the answers, but because we know what it feels like to live in the unknown. Writing helps us process, connect, and remember that even on the hardest days, love still leads.

If our story reaches you, comforts you, or reminds you that you’re not alone — then it’s worth every mile.
We pray that wherever you are on your path, may there be a road for you, too.
