The first time we pulled into the Sawtooth Valley, it felt like stepping into a place carved out just for us. The mountains rose in sharp, impossible angles, the air smelled of pine, and Alturas Lake Creek ran so close to our RV that it became the soundtrack of our days. This was our first stop outside Utah, and its wild beauty met us right where we needed it most.
